I grew up on a tobacco farm in Loris, South Carolina. My love of art lead me to the University of South Carolina where I studied fine art, photography and earned a degree in advertising design. After I graduated I worked as a designer for the University of South Carolina, as Art Director for Blue Cross Blue Shield. Currently I'm Graphic Design and Brand Manager for the fifth largest employer in South Carolina, Palmetto Health. I've won numerous art and advertising awards including Best of Show at the Columbia Ad Clubs, ADDY awards and I've been recognized as a member of Who?s Who in America.
I'm passionate about creativity and painting. I'm fortunate to have work in homes and corporate headquarters. Folks from as far away as Germany and England have purchased my work.
Art is my way of leaving bread crumbs of the journey of life to hopefully bring pleasure, encouragement and beauty to fellow travelers who are also passing through.
My life is composed of tiny fragments of color, texture and form. My paintings are an extension of my faith and my connections. I?m obsessed with creating. I?m fascinated with light and dark in a physical, spiritual and literal sense. Art does not bring peace but it can be a bridge to the heart of man where it can forge healing, hope and redemption. My goal is to bring this about through visual sophistication that is sensitive to the heart.
Art is an outward expression of my feelings and thoughts. Sometimes its links are strong enough with someone else that they feel the connection. Not everyone can or should make that connection but when they do, it is deeply satisfying to me and to the viewer.
Sketching or looking for the perfect photo are very important. It causes you to see things others just walk by.
